Poke City

Cambridge, MA

Poke City is a restaurant that I visited often in college. They used to have a blue line work mural inside that was a relatively basic landscape scene. The style looked like blue and white porcelain. I introduced the idea to redo the mural for them and they were excited to see what we could create together.

I chose this specific style to align with the goals of this project. I wanted to create a more joyful space that displayed bright colors and playful shapes. I attained this by using thick line work and a asymmetric composition. The pattern background was the most difficult to achieve in production and took some sizing adjustment to become feasible.

Murals make for great promo material backdrops. Poke City knows how to maximize the usage of their branding materials!
